Could anyone suggest some NDT techniques for the evaluation of the quality of glass, e.g. light transmittance performance data, colour, flatness, etc.

Hi Ifan,

Panametrics has several new products that would be suitable for Single plane and Multilayer glass applications.

Please feel free to contact Steve Labreck in our Panametrics Waltham office; NDT@panametrics.com

Please also take a look at our glass applications page:

You may also try the folks at BYK Gardner (and they seem to like to pronounce the acronym 'bik'!). Their website is here:
http://www.bykgardner.com/html/byk/index.html

Beyond the great thickness gages that Panametrics certainly knows how to use, you can find items at BYK that represent an obscure corner of NDT, at least for me. Stuff like gloss measurement, haze, true color, etc., some of which appears to be on-sale demos.

Good luck.
