NDT of Electron beam welded Aluminum

Hello,

We are doing a lot of elctron beam welding of alumimium plates in the order of 80 - 100 mmm thickness
Currently we are taking radiography. CAn we use ASME Sec V for the procedures and guidelines ? Are there any other stds for this ?

What about UT ? What should be the suitable technique for this ? and what should be the reference ?

Any ideas ?

Thanks

S S annathan

Re: NDT of Electron beam welded Aluminum
Hello,

Which Specification are you presently using? Does it allow alternative NDT Methods like UT? What are the typical defects produced by the process? Have you carried out that analysis or not?

If interested, pl. correspond directly.
