Welding Forum

NDT Engineers are often faced with problems or questions that
require a greater depth of welding knowledge than is covered
by their experience or training.

Should you find yourself in this position and are looking for
some quick answers on a welding problem, then you might be
interested in the new welding forum just launched on the website
UKWelder http://www.ukwelder.com

UKWelder is the vacancy and news website for the UK Welding Industry and is operated in association with the Welding Institute.

We aim to answer the majority of questions placed on the forum
and welcome input from site users.

Please note that our forum is aimed solely at welding related
problems and you should therefore continue to post your ndt
questions on this forum.

On-Demand Webinar: Advanced Ultrasonic Techniques for HTHA Detection & Assessment

In the Oil and Gas industry, High Temperature Hydrogen Attack (HTHA) can occur in steels operating a
...
t high temperature, usually above 205°C (400°F). Early stages of HTHA are very difficult to detect. Join us for a webinar presented by Guy Maes, Zetec Sales Engineer Director. The webinar will demonstrate how advanced ultrasonic techniques are deployed for efficient and reliable HTHA inspections.

FMC/TFM

Next generation for Phased Array UT is here now with FMC/TFM! Have higher resolution imaging, impr
...
oved signal to noise ratio, characterize, size and analyze defects better with access to several wave mode views and save raw FMC data for higher quality analysis.  Some of the benefits are:
  • Beautiful Image! Easier to understand what you're looking at
  • Completely focused in entire image or volume
  • Much easier to define setups before inspection
  • Easier to decipher geometry echoes from real defects
  • Oriented defects (e.g. cracks) are imaged better
  • See image from different wave modes from one FMC inspection
  • FMC data can be reprocessed/analyzed without going back to the field
