SCC in carbon steel and inconel pipes by O2 penetration

I am doing a research in strees corrosion cracking
in carbon steel and inconel pipes which transport
oxygen as part of a reaction in a petrochemical plant.
The pipes are of 3" to 4" in internal diameter and 370 mils
of thickness aprox. The samples I look at, have internal
cracks growing from the inside diameter to the outside
of the pipe. As I undestood, there is a flame burning
from the outside of the pipe and the oxygen is flowing
in the inside of the pipe. I do Ultrasonic inspection,
using a single straight transducer 5.0 MHz and compare
the backwall echo to find out the loss of signal and
continue with calculus of the degradation of the pipe.
Now, I need further information of the chemical reaction
of this subject and any other means of the UT inspection.
