There are a number of approaches to Spread Spectrum Processing in the literature. If you do a search on NDT.net for Split Spectrum Processing, a few papers will also pop up. There are also papers on Complex Plane Split Spectrum (CSSP) Processing which have a number of additional advantages, such as retained amplitude linearity, and further improvements in S/N ratios (among other).
A mathematical simulation of CSSP should become available on NDT.net (shareware) shortly. This software will be an extension of the currently shared diffraction simulation software (CSSP_Diff_Sim). The link to the diffraction simulation software is as follows: http://www.ndt.net/article/v09n04/rubbers/rubbers.htm (click on the download button on the top right hand side)
