Selection of NDT method

Dear Friends,

Thank you very much for the very useful info given on TOFD. After reading all the replies, I am getting a fundamental question.
What is the criteria for choosing UT or RT or TOFD or any other
method with refeence to the defect detectability in size and
orientation ? How is it related to the structural applications
or pressure vessels ? Can some one pl throw some light on this ?
