Acoustic impedance

hi.

I am confusing, which formula we use for calculating the acoustic impedance?

i) Transmission coefficient, D=(2*Z2)/(Z1+Z2)
OR
ii) Transmission coefficient, D=(4*Z1*Z2)/(Z1+Z2)^2

the equation (i) i get from Ultrasonic testing meterials from Krautkramer.

Your equation (i) gives the AMPLITUDE of the transmitted wave. Your equation (ii) gives the POWER of the transmitted wave.
