What are the known methods of measuring the amount of coke that has accummulated inside of a pipe? We are seeking a confirmative

This measurenet can be made with high resulution probe.
The A-scan shows the small interference echo (pipe material/coke layer) in fron of the high backawall echo from the inside of the tube. The diference in time of flight of these echoes is proporional to the thikness of the layer.

In orther to couple the probe the surface must be free of scores and scale as well as being smooth at the coupling point.
