06:35 Dec-27-2005 On-Line UT Monitoring Using 5" X5" Grid
Gentelmen; Please I need more information about this new technology and what is your experience with this system if you are using it.
This is a sensor coming from a mesh (around 5X5) that is glued on the pipe to measure pipe thickness and is connected to a computer. This is supposed to replace the manpower intensive OSI pipe thickness measurement by D-meter. The mesh is supposed to measure pipe thickness through measurement of changes in stresses in the pipe.
02:10 Dec-28-2005 Re: On-Line UT Monitoring Using 5" X5" Grid You need to be more specific about the technology. It sounds like the magnetic resistance mesh grid. You need to ask specific questions about the technology. Is it averaging thickness over a 5" x 5" footprint. If so it measn its real use is general wall thinning over karge areas. Localised loss within the grid will be undersized due to the footprint averaging. Is the material affected by temperature i.e do temperature variations affect measurement accuracy. If so is there compensation and has it been properly validated.
Simple approach is to request a performance demonstration test.
Teledyne ICM’s CPSERIES has been designed with a view to
revolutionizing the handling and perfor
mances of portable X-Ray
sets. Despite having managed to halve the weight of similar
portable X-Ray generators available on the market (while
continuing to provide the same power output), the SITEX CPSERIES
generators feature a shutter, a laser pointer, a beryllium window,
an aluminum filter and two integrated diaphragms (customized sizes
are available upon request). Without compromising the robustness
and reliability for which ICM products are renowned, the small
size and light weight of the SITEX CPSERIES will radically change
the way that you perform your RT inspections. And you will see a
positive impact in terms of both quality and return on investment
