Acoustic impedance of SBR rubber
does anyone knows the acoustic impedance value of the styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR)? Or, more simply, do you know if someone performed ultrasonic tests on tyre treads?

Re: Acoustic impedance of SBR rubber The Panametrics-NDT group at Olympus NDT has a lot of experience with ultrasonic testing of rubber tires. Most of our customers have been interested in measuring thickness of rubber over reinforcing plies, but we have also done through transmission flaw detection to find tread separation. We have an application note on the subject on our web site. What exactly do you need to do?
The acoustic impedance of butyl rubber is approximately 2 MRayl.
NDT Master Lecturer
In the program both university professors and practitioners will give lectures, which guarantees the

Digital Radiography for Concrete Inspection
In the construction industry (buildings, bridges) there is a need for fast non-
most commonly to locate targets (Pipes, Re-bars, Conduit,
Fittings etc.) within concrete structures prior to drilling, cutting or coring.
Measuring reinforcements is also performed for static calculations and to detect
corrosion problems and damages. Cracks and voids can also be visualized. The
examinations are not only restricted to concrete constructions; they can also be
applied to reinforced masonry made of natural stones or bricks.
GEKKO, Standard and Advanced phased-array for Easier inspection
With a 64-channel parallel architecture, GEKKO is a flaw detector
offering at the same time conven
tional UT, standard PAUT, TOFD and
real-time Total Focusing Method (TFM). GEKKO improves the
detection, with better defects characterization
and sizing as well as for misoriented defects.
Some procedures require standard UT, others TOFD or PA. GEKKO
includes all these techniques to offer a versatile and field-ready
- 64:64 parallel channels
- + 4 additional TOFD
- Conventional UT channels
- International code compliance: ASME, AWS, API, ASTM, ISO-EN

Teledyne ICM’s CPSERIES has been designed with a view to
revolutionizing the handling and perfor
mances of portable X-Ray
sets. Despite having managed to halve the weight of similar
portable X-Ray generators available on the market (while
continuing to provide the same power output), the SITEX CPSERIES
generators feature a shutter, a laser pointer, a beryllium window,
an aluminum filter and two integrated diaphragms (customized sizes
are available upon request). Without compromising the robustness
and reliability for which ICM products are renowned, the small
size and light weight of the SITEX CPSERIES will radically change
the way that you perform your RT inspections. And you will see a
positive impact in terms of both quality and return on investment
