It is a blessing to have NDT as an engineering tool. In most cases we-engineers- face a dilemma in projects that require direct testing but restrictions allow no such direct testing. There the value of NDT arises clear.
Nevertheless, in my opinion and from my own inference in real life, NDT still requires (CODING) and not left to the different laboratories to decide on methods and results.
It is clear that NDT must not be left to the investigating Lab, it must be conducted and interpreted by the ENGINEER. It also should be associated with a true test however possible.
Engineers and lab technicians should be educated and trained in the field of NDT. Here the value of such a community like NDT specialist arises. Not everything should be left to Universities; otherwise courses and curriculum shall be swelled and impracticable.
