The new Microgage VX is the latest addition to the Sonatest range of precision thickness gauges. Equipped with an abundance of features the Microgage VX can be used with a variety of transducer types, but comes as standard with a high frequency pencil probe - Sonapen.
Combining the Microgage VX with the pencil style transducer makes access to small contact areas very easy, measuring thin and complex shaped materials to high levels of precision eg turbine blades. The Sonapen transducer is ideal for testing convex or concave surfaces, as well as those areas where defects have been blended out. Such flexibility, precision and A-scan verification capability renders the Microgage VX and invaluable testing instrument in the Aerospace and Automotive industries.
Standard delay line and contact transducers are also available for use with this gauge as are special graphite delay line transducers designed for thin plastics applications. Adaptable across different types of applications from thick materials to very thin materials, all the operator needs to do is change transducers and go to work!
Selectable display modes available include A-Scan, B-Scan, Large Digits and Scan Bar thickness, at 6 readings per second. The alpha-numeric data storage and PC software included with the Microgage VX means all the reporting requirements are met, capable of storing up to 12,000 readings and waveforms.
