Oceanscan Limited & Umbilicals International Enter the ROV & Oceanographic Cable Market
Feb 16, 2006 -- Oceanscan Limited is delighted to be representing the custom cable and hose manufacturer, Umbilicals International Inc.
Umbilicals International Inc (formerly Diveline Inc) was formed four years ago by former President of JDR Cable Systems Inc, Colin Zak.
By focussing on arduous duty and deep water applications, Umbilicals Intl and parent company HL Technologies, has seen rapid growth for cable solutions in the demanding geophysical, geotechnical and oceanographic markets.
Production has been expanded production to stay ahead of demand and UI currently operate from a 36,000 sq ft facility in Stafford Texas.
In addition to new manufacture, significant capability has allowed in-house servicing and repair of large marine cable and umbilicals such as streamer lead-ins and air gun cables.
This year, UI will double in size again, moving to a new custom-built facility on 11 acres of land also in Stafford. The move will include the addition of full cable armouring capability for the production of dynamic electro-mechanical cables and umbilicals.
Co-founder and President of sister company Harvey-Lynch Inc, Brian Hardy added "We are very excited about this development. We have a great team of highly skilled, individuals all committed to exceeding customers expectations and ready for the opportunities ahead."
UI enters the ROV market with a team drawing on more than 30 years collective experience in the design and manufacture of armoured cable and a commitment to provide top quality custom products with a cost effective price and a timely delivery.
Oceanscan are therefore proud to have been selected as representatives for Umbilicals Intl. and are working hand in hand with them to exceed our customers’ expectations for pre and after-sales service.
In anticipation of UI’s armouring capability this year, Oceanscan has began discussion with several UK ROV operators and manufacturers and have received orders for five custom tethers to customer specification to date.
