Rockwood Service Corporation Acquires US Inspection Services (USI)
Monday May 1, -- Rockwood Service Corporation announces the acquisition of US Inspection Services (USI), effective May 1, 2006. USI is one of the nation's largest non-destructive testing firms, with operations throughout the Midwest and Southeastern US. The owners of Gerry Aschinger and Ed Graham built USI from the purchase of Dayton X-Ray in 1994.
According to Peter Scannell, president of Rockwood, "We are delighted for the opportunity to add the talent and reputation of USI to our Rockwood organization. Our organizations share common values, but with little overlap. We see great opportunity to build on USI's success and to further our commitment to the NDT business. Our plans for USI are to stay its present course with all employees continuing in their present positions. USI will continue under Jim Bailey's and Dennis Lee's leadership as an independent subsidiary within Rockwood."
According to Jim Bailey, president of USI, "We look forward to being part of the Rockwood organization. We see a number of areas where we may be able to provide additional resources or capabilities to our clients and see significant potential for USI as part of Rockwood."
Rockwood provides non-destructive testing, materials engineering and related services throughout the world. Rockwood operations include: Acuren - NDT, Materials Engineering services, Sperry Rail Service - rail flaw inspection services, and Hellier NDT - NDT training.
