New PTZ 70 Camera Head to complete the Everest Ca-Zoom® 6.2

Flanders, NJ, USA – August, 2006 – GE Inspection Technologies launches the new Everest Ca-Zoom PTZ 70 camera head for remote visual inspection. The PTZ70 is the smallest in diameter and now the third interchangeable camera head for the Ca-Zoom 6.2 product family.

The PTZ70 camera is 70 mm (2.75 in) in diameter and features 40x total zoom (10x optical zoom; 4x digital zoom), eight 5-watt LED lights with variable intensity control, and 360 degree continuous pan direction.

This newest addition to the Ca-Zoom 6.2 platform allows users to increase inspection capabilities with the most comprehensive industrial pan-tilt-zoom camera available in the world today. The Ca-Zoom 6.2 system can also operate the PTZ100 and PTZ140 camera heads utilizing the same cable and Camera Control Unit.

“With this tool we meet our customers’ requests for increased productivity and portability. Our customers are typically in the power generation industry, with the Department of Energy, or process industry (tanks and vessels). The Ca-Zoom 6.2 puts inspection and digital image management in the palm of your hand with three interchangeable camera head options, integrated image capture and full-motion video recording capabilities, on-board file manager, annotation and comparison measurement features” said Susan Shields, Product Manager for the Ca-Zoom 6.2 system.

The Ca-Zoom 6.2 includes CompactFlash® removable storage media, the ability to record and playback over two hours of DVD format MPEG2 video and a USB streaming digital video port. The system will accept any storage capacity size Type I CompactFlash® (CF) card. It also features the ability to record digital still images and MPEG2 or MPEG1 video either on its internal 64MB flash memory or on removable CF cards.
