Waltham, MA, January 2007 - Olympus NDT is pleased to announce the release of two new software programs: OmniScan MXU-2.0 for use with the OmniScan PA and UT modules for automated inspections as well as OmniScan MXU-M-2.0 for use with the new Low-Cost OmniScan M for manual inspections. These programs are now available free for download for all existing OmniScan users at the company's download section of the website. The OmniScan MXU-2.0 software replaces versions OmniScan 1.4 PA (phased array) and OmniScan 1.7 UT (ultrasound) and merges these programs into one convenient package with a simplified user interface. Both programs employ various new and improved features to make phased array and conventional ultrasound inspections easier than ever before. A comprehensive step-by-step Wizard Assistance Menu enables users to easily create a complete setup and calibrate all focal laws. A Wedge and Probe Management tool allows all wedges and probes to be displayed and classified by category along with all parameters at the bottom of the screen display. It is now also possible to create a group UT (or Time-of-Flight Diffraction) within the PA interface menu. For more information on additional exciting features of these software programs, please consult Olympus NDT.
