Materials Testing 2011 set to be bigger and better than ever

British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing,BINDT32, Northampton, United Kingdom

Materials Testing the international showcase for the non-destructive testing (NDT), materials testing, quality and mechanical testing, condition monitoring and diagnostic engineering industries will take place from 13-15 September 2011 in Telford, UK.

This year s event is set to be bigger and better than ever and will run alongside NDT 2011, the annual conference of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT), providing additional networking opportunities.

Materials Testing 2011 is free of charge for visitors, who will benefit from an enhanced programme of talks and seminars in the exhibition hall, covering practical aspects of NDT. As this year is the 50th BINDT conference, the exhibition will also include a historical display telling the story of NDT through the years and featuring people and equipment that have played a key role in its development.

Materials Testing, which takes place once every two years, is recognised as one of the most comprehensive international exhibitions in NDT and related disciplines. It provides an opportunity for businesses to showcase their technologies, source new contacts and meet industry colleagues, and keep up to date with developments.

The venue for this year s exhibition - the International Centre in Telford, in the West Midlands - is less than one-and-a-half hours from three international airports and only five minutes away from the UK rail and motorway networks.

John Hansen, Chairman of the organising committee, said: NDT has come a long way since it was first recognised as a separate discipline in the 1950s and since the foundation of BINDT as the industry professional body in 1961. NDT now plays a critical role in ensuring public safety and will become increasingly important in the future as industry seeks to maximise efficiency by extending the life of plant and equipment. Materials Testing is one of the premier international events of its type and is a valuable opportunity for both practitioners and NDT users to update their knowledge and see some of the latest technologies.
