Fully Automatic Inline-CT for Serial Inspection

MatriX Technologies GmbH13, Dachau, Germany

MatriX Technologies extends its AXI product portfolio with an inline CT solution for really fully automatic serial inspection with computed tomography.

Feldkirchen, April 26th, 2012 – With the new inline computed tomography system XCT-2000i the world-wide supplier adds a fully automatic high-speed CT system for 100%, non-destructive part inspection in the serial production to its existing product portfolio of AXI/CT inspection systems.

The specialist for automatic inline solutions relies on flexibility and modular design for its systems. To guarantee optimum configuration for the given inspection task, the new CT inspection system XCT-2000i can be equipped with different x-ray tubes and state-of-the-art detectors. The system is completely integrated into the production line – including loading and unloading unit – and can be easily adapted to the process control and QS system of the customer. A fast cycle time of less than a minute including part handling as well as fully automatic good/bad decision and sorting, guarantees a high throughput avoiding bottlenecks in production. As a default the new inline system is equipped with the proprietary, industry proven MIPS software platform for programming, classification and verification with interfaces to all MIPS modules.

The application range of inline CT covers among others the non-destructive testing, the classical defect inspection e.g. of castings (cavities, shrinkage, pores, cracks, inclusions, ...), but also the measuring of forms and structures (wall thickness or distances).

The cross-sector technology with excellent price/performance ratio is applied across all industrial sectors – among others in the food, medical products, light metal casting, ceramics, plastics, sensors, automotive, aerospace industry.

MatriX Technologies also offers a complete service range of different x-ray and CT inspection and application tasks. The global company has realized a major expansion of its demo center in Feldkirchen near Munich with significant investments in inspection equipment. Customers are invited to take advantage of decades of AXI experience and a wide range of services: x-ray analysis with transmission and CT technology, high resolution 1 micron technology and high power x-ray up to 450 kV.
