|Thermal imaging cameras have evolved into widespread instruments for industrial and fundamental R&D.
In many cases R&D professional choose for a fixed mounted thermal imaging camera. There are however quite some R&D professionals that are opting for a portable thermal imaging camera that they can take from experiment to experiment. For these users FLIR Systems now markets the SC650 and SC450 R&D / Science packs. The SC650 pack contains a T650 sc thermal imaging camera. A T450 sc thermal imaging camera is included in the SC450 pack. Both packs include ResearchIR software.
Excellent image quality
Both the T650 sc and T450 sc contain a maintenance-free uncooled Vanadium Oxide (VoX) microbolometer detector that produces crisp thermal images. The high definition 640 x 480 pixels detector of the FLIR T650 sc which is included in the SC650 pack generates crisp and clear detailed images that are easy to interpret, resulting in reliable thermal experiments with higher accuracy. It makes temperature differences as small as 35 mK clearly visible. A 5 Megapixel digital camera assures clear visual images.
Users that do not need this high image quality can chose for the SC450 pack that includes a T450 sc generating thermal images of 320 x 240 pixels. It incorporates a 3.1 Megapixel digital camera.
Accurate temperature readings
The FLIR T650 sc measures temperature of up to +2,000 °C. The FLIR T450 sc up to +1,500 °C. Both models have a high accuracy of +/- 1ºC or +/- 1% which is necessary in an R&D environment. Analysis tools include spotmeters, automatic hot/cold detection markers and isotherm (above/below/interval).
Ergonomic and easy-to-use
A turnable control grip allows you to use the camera in the most comfortable position. The buttons and joystick to control the camera are integrated in this handle and always stay right underneath your fingertips. LCD touch screen plus stylus brings interactivity and user comfort to a new level.
The high quality LCD touch screen allows you to see the smallest details and temperature differences.
Full featured camera
Both thermal imaging cameras contain all the features that are needed in an R&D / Science environment including FLIR “industry first’ features like:
Produces extremely detail rich thermal images. MSX provides better texture in a thermal image. Due to this new feature more thermal anomalies can be detected, more detailed analysis can be done and conclusions can be drawn in a split second.
An ‘instant report’ (with sketches or other text comments included) can be created directly in camera.
Allows to clearly indicate on a saved image the location of the problem area both on the thermal and the visual image. This can be done immediately on the touch screen of the camera. The indications you make will automatically appear in the report.
A solution with two digital cameras allows for continuous autofocus of the thermal images. Continuous auto-focus makes FLIR T650 sc the first fully automatic thermal imaging camera on the market.
