Hamamatsu Photonics Radiation Detector Module

Hamamatsu Photonics introduce the new C12137, a compact, high sensitivity radiation detector module using Hamamatsu’s unique Multi-Pixel Photon Counting (MPPC) technology. The C12137 is a gamma ray detector containing a scintillator crystal coupled to an MPPC sensor. The scintillator converts incident gamma rays into visible light and the MPPC then detects the converted light. Owing to the MPPCs extremely high sensitivity, even very low light levels can be measured, allowing high accuracy measurements of low energy gamma rays.

Also contained within the compact USB compatible module is the processing circuit and A/D converter necessary for signal processing. The module is designed for easy integration into existing equipment and is ideal for environmental monitoring, mapping and transport screening.
