TÜV Rheinland Sonovation opens Aberdeen office

TÜV Rheinland Sonovation27, Oosterhout , Netherlands

05/03/2014 - TÜV Rheinland Sonovation has announced that it has recently opened an office in Aberdeen to support its growing offshore business.

With the need to extend the economic life of offshore platforms, the structural integrity of offshore structures is attracting significant interest. With a new local presence in Aberdeen, TÜV Rheinland Sonovation has the ability to respond to industry needs in a timely manner, as well as providing local support.

TÜV Rheinland Sonovation operates as a non-destructive testing company in the Netherlands and internationally. The company specialises in acoustic emission, time-of-flight diffraction, phased array (phased array inspection) and mechanised pulse-echo corrosion mapping. It designs and develops ultrasonic inspection systems for industry applications and ScanPlan, a software package for inspection set-ups. The company also offers the pulsed eddy current technique, a method for corrosion screening under insulation and corrosion monitoring. In addition, it provides training courses for TOFD and phased array.

TÜV Rheinland Sonovation was formerly known as Sonovation B.V. and changed its name to TÜV Rheinland Sonovation in 2012. The company was founded in 1988 and is based in Oosterhout, the Netherlands, with additional offices in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Germany. Since 12 August 2011, TÜV Rheinland Sonovation has operated as a subsidiary of TÜV Rheinland B.V.
