|Reutlingen’s world market leader in non-destructive testing extends product portfolio by takeover of NDT Systems GmbH.|
Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG (www.foerstergroup.com) takes over NDT Systems GmbH in Stutensee near Karlsruhe – pioneer and world market leader in non-destructive testing of heavy plates by ultrasonics. On August 29th, 2014 both companies signed an agreement on the takeover as well as the continuation of all business operations.
FOERSTER, based in Reutlingen, is a medium-sized company and considered one of the world market leaders in non-destructive testing of materials. The company has been active in the development, production and sale of equipment for testing bars, tubes and wires for more than 60 years. With the new sector of NDT Systems FOERSTER assumes a product range, well fitting into the existing FOERSTER organization in regards to sales, project planning and service, hence technologically complementing the existing range of products. Counting ten international sales and service subsidiaries as well as representatives in over 60 countries, the FOERSTER Group offers optimum customer support locally.
The combination of the two methods – NDT Systems‘ ultrasonics and FOERSTER’s eddy current – for quality testing in railroad track production, has been successfully applied in many testing lines around the world. President Felix Förster is convinced that the two companies will complement and therefore give additional value to customers in different testing applications.
Aside from FOERSTER headquarters in Reutlingen the Stutensee site will remain in operation. FOERSTER, with its 330 employees in Reutlingen and 560 employees worldwide, generates approximately 110 million Euros per year in group revenue.
