TECNATOM Sponsors the 6th International Symposium on Non Destructive Testing in Aerospace and Presents Seven Papers

The Spanish company also has its own stand with an area for demonstrations of Gekko equipment, conducted by its French subsidiary M2M, and the systems developed by Tecnatom.

Madrid, 14th November 2014.- Tecnatom sponsors the 6th International Symposium on NDT in Aerospace that takes place in Madrid on November 12-14. More than a hundred experts meet on this important event to hear and discuss the latest advances in the field of NDT applied to Aerospace. The main topics are the physics of NDT, sensors and material interaction, the system design of complete inspection machines and the data evaluation by automated image processing. Special focus will be given to improvements in inspection speed and the transfer of laboratory NDT towards production and manufacturing process-integrated testing for inline inspection.

Tecnatom presents some papers about Fast scanning: achieving high scanning velocities in the phased array inspection of aeronautics components, Competitive Industrial robot-based Inspection Cell, Composite inspection using Surface Adapted Ultrasound (SAUL) y Laser Ultrasonics Inspections of Aeronautical Components with high cadence and geometrical variations, manufactured by Resin Transfer Moulding(RTM). The first one has been presented in collaboration with the Ultrasonics Group of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). The second one, was presented by the French subsidiary M2M, which has also taken care of the presentation of Gekko, the first phased array portable equipment device with 64 channels working in parallel and able to generate ultrasonic images in real time.

On November 13th Tecnatom exposed the paper about Adaptive Beamforming and after opened their facilities for a technical visit offered to the participants of the Symposium. There they could see some demonstrations of advanced systems for the inspection of aeroparts that Tecnatom has been developing. At the end of the journey there was a dinner hosted by Tecnatom.

Last day, Tecnatom presents Several Approximations to NDT of CFRP materials previous to Autoclave Curing Process and Through Transmission Phased Array for quality and productivity, which reflect its most recent developments included in its last supplies. A step forward in the improvement of productivity during inspections by TTU through the inclusion of phased array technology.
