Metal Fatigue Solutions Announces New NDT Product Lines

Metal Fatigue Solutions, Inc., Las Vegas, NV, USA

Will Launch, Exhibit, at TRB Annual Meeting in Wash. D.C. Jan. 11 - 15 LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Jan 13, 2015) - Metal Fatigue Solutions (MFS), a producer of advanced Nondestructive Testing (NDT) technology systems, today announced its new and upgraded product lines for 2015 based on its patented, next-generation Electrochemical Fatigue Sensor (EFS™) technology platform.

The Company is launching the new lines, with live demonstrations, at the Transportation Research Board's (TRB) 94th Annual Meeting being held in Washington DC, January 11-15 and expected to attract 12,000 transportation professionals from around the world. MFS is exhibiting at Booth #442, with members of senior management in attendance. U.S. and international asset owners, manufacturers and engineering firms are invited to contact the Company to schedule meetings.

MFS' EFS system is a patented, next-generation NDT technology, initially commercialized in 2005. Its new product lines focus on inspection and monitoring of civil infrastructure for progressive cracking which can lead to structural failure. Structures that benefit from the EFS system's industry leading capabilities include bridges, buildings, oil and gas assets, wind energy assets and other metal infrastructure vulnerable to age, weather or stress.

The MFS new product lines are Chek, Watch, and Fuse:

  • The MFS Chek product line consists of inspection augmentation products that provide a high return on investment (ROI) for civil infrastructure owners. It includes RetroChek, used for verifying retrofits in real-time, and CrackChek, for determining the immediate status of a crack.

  • The Watch line, MFS' newest, is an online structural health monitoring system that enables owners to receive digital alerts and information -- remotely 24/7 -- on the structural integrity of their critical infrastructure assets. This line includes FatigueWatch, as well as SignWatch for overhead sign structures (under development.)

  • The Fuse line features the Fatigue Fuse ™, which is custom designed to be an early, leading indicator of the extent of fatigue damage in metal assets, such as moveable bridges for the military. When custom-configured finite percentages of a structure's fatigue are surpassed, specific portions of the Fatigue Fuse 'break' to proactively indicate a measurable extent of fatigue damage under actual loading conditions.

"Our customers depend on us for innovative technology systems that enable them to migrate towards a more holistic, cost effective asset management model while ensuring a compelling ROI," said MFS Chief Executive Officer, Sade Panahi. "Through relentless R&D, we continually redefine the leading edge of NDT by advancing our products, software and systems to capitalize on our industry leading IP and technology platform on behalf of our customers and their assets, employees and the public safety."

The new MFS product lines complement conventional NDT techniques, a market that research estimates at $1.4 billion in 2014 and is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 8.96% to reach $6.88 billion by 2020 (1).

About Metal Fatigue Solutions Inc. Metal Fatigue Solutions (MFS) develops, manufactures and markets next-generation non-destructive testing (NDT) devices and systems that indicate the true status of fatigue damage in a metal component. The Company's customers include the State DOTs, Infrastructure Owners, the U.S. Federal Government, and private engineering firms.

Initially commercialized in 2005, MFS' flagship product is the industry leading Electrochemical Fatigue Sensor (EFS™), an instrument that detects microscopic growing fatigue cracks in metals. With seven patents, MFS owns the only NDT technology able to find growing cracks as minute as 0.01 inches -- critical information that enables structural engineers to isolate and repair the more than 100,000 US steel bridges classified as structurally deficient or functionally obsolete by the Federal Highway Administration. EFS is also applicable to aerospace, ships, cranes, railways, power plants, nuclear facilities, chemical plants, mining equipment, piping systems and "heavy iron." (www.metal-fatigue-solutions.com)
