ACFM® technology througout Spanish speaking South and Central American countries

TSC’s determination to expand awareness of ACFM® technology and products on a global scale has taken another step forward with a working agreement being reached with Xcel Inspection Solutions Ltd. With a UK based Headquarters Xcel Inspection Solutions are focused on Spanish speaking countries throughout South and Central America and are very active in the region.

Paul Watkins, TSC’s Business Development Director stated, “We have an objective of meeting organic growth targets on a global scale. When considering how best to cover Spanish speaking South and Central American countries TSC decided that the market knowledge, determination and energy being shown by XIS in this vibrant region was so closely matched to our own, that a joint working agreement was a good solution for both companies”.

He continued “The fact that XIS has already shown their worth by securing ACFM® products sales in the region was an excellent starting point for our discussions. By using the XIS local market knowledge and language skills the customer experience will be much enhanced, enabling a fast response to their needs and in the same time zone, it’s a huge advantage for us all”.

The XIS Managing Director, Dr Alessandro Demma, quotes: “I am very delighted with this alliance as it fits perfectly in line with our business strategy. TSC enjoys an excellent reputation among industrial customers and I see significant new business opportunities in South and Central American countries with the offer of ACFM® technology”. He added “XIS will have the responsibility of increasing ACFM® awareness in the region and will carry out local ACFM® training courses. Being in contact with current and potential customers to satisfy their needs will let both companies, XIS and TSC optimise their presence in the region”.

The product focus of the agreement, which runs for an initial period of two years, is the reputable TSC AMIGO™ System and associated accessories. TSC will provide XIS with technical and operational support from its headquarters in the UK, whilst XIS will be customer facing and market focused. XIS will be representing TSC at local exhibitions and soon will be delivering a programme ACFM® training in Panama.

About TSC Inspection Systems
TSC Inspection Systems provides advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) solutions, founded on their unique and patented Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM®) technology. The ACFM® technique detects surface-breaking cracks in metallic structures and components, without the need to remove protected coatings, therefore minimizing downtime for critical operations. Independent tests show that ACFM® technology is one of the world’s most reliable NDT methods, producing an audit-trail which makes the inspection process significantly more robust than traditional methods.

TSC Inspection Systems was established in 1984, as a spin-off from University College London, by a team of Professors and Lecturers who were recognised leaders in the fields of NDT, robotics and fracture mechanics. ACFM® was developed with support from BP, BG, Conoco and Shell, who were keen to significantly improve the reliability of underwater inspection, reduce the reliance on the diver operator and provide auditable inspection records.

TSC offers customers a wide range of support in the execution of subsea and onshore inspection programmes worldwide, including ACFM® system sales and rentals, operator services and engineered solutions for diverless subsea ACFM® deployment.
