Just in time for the Vision 2016 the company AT – Automation Technology launches its newest model of the successful C5 series. This 3D sensor applies the laser-triangulation principle for the scanning of objects and features a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixel with measurement speeds of up to 200 kHz. Consequently, the C5-1280-GigE is the fastest 3D sensor with megapixel resolution on the market.
The C5-1280-GigE underscores this unique combination of measurement accuracy and measuring speed by its subpixel precision of 1/64 pixel. As a result the high speed 3D sensor scores a dynamic of 512 height values even at its maximal profile rate of 200000 profiles per second. A distinctive feature of AT’s 3D sensor series has always been the independence of the measuring speed from the used evaluation algorithm. Therefore, the measuring speed will always be the same, no matter if you choose the MAX, TRSH, FIR-PEAK or COG algorithm for your application.
The new C5 model supports all typical features of AT’s already well-established C5 camera series. This means the C5-1280-GigE communicates via a Gigabit Ethernet interface and comply with the GigE-Vision and GenICam standard. The HDR-3D functionality (High Dynamic Range) has also been implemented. This feature enables a better scanning of materials and surfaces, having inhomogeneous reflection properties. Furthermore, the new C5-sensor supports also 3D-scan functions such as automatic AOI-tracking, AOI-search and auto-start which become very popular to many of our existing customers.
As with all our C5 sensors, a special effort was made to enhance the industrial capabilities. Therefore, the C5-Sensors have a compact and rugged design and are equipped with M12 tensile- and tear- resistant connectors to ensure their power supply as well as a reliable data transfer. For installations in rough environments (e.g. dust or with splash water) the C5 sensors are available with different lens covers that not only offer a protective class IP67, but also have optional extras such as air barriers.
After the release of the high resolution sensor C5-4090-GigE that features a record-breaking resolution of 12 Megapixel for 3D sensors, the newest model C5-1280-GigE sets a new standard in terms of measuring speed and demonstrates once again AT’s technological market leadership for three-dimensional measuring tasks.
