New Large Scale Flatbed Squirter-based SystemScanMaster Systems (IRT) Ltd.29, Kfar-Sava, Israel
As you read this, ScanMaster’s new flatbed squirter-based system is making its way to the customer site. These systems are designed for water-jet mode ultrasonic testing of large aerospace composite panels horizontally placed inside the scanner area.
Intended for inspecting large numbers of panels per day, the systems are equipped for high throughput using an array of squirter pairs in a multi-channel UT configuration. The ample scan area (10 meters x 2.5 meters) allows for inspection of large panels, multiple small parts, or a combination of the two.
The system includes an array of four pairs of squirters. Each set can support both pulse-echo (PE) from each side and through transmission using either linear or logarithmic amplifiers. The system can also simultaneously inspect a part in two different frequencies, providing a single seamless C-scan display for each mode. This unique UT configuration enhances performance and increases efficiency.
