The 11th International Symposium on NDT in Aerospace call for papers closed with nearly 120 papers submittedCOFREND20, Paris, France
The 11th International Symposium on NDT in Aerospace will take place in Saclay near Paris/France during November 13 to 15, 2019 and is organized by the French Society for NDT (COFREND) together with CEA-List. France is the hosting country this year being one of the leading nations in aerospace technologies worldwide those days. As in the years before each of the hosting countries made a large effort on what to present regarding the national aerospace related NDT activities and France will be doing it this year.
The call for papers closed with nearly 120 papers submitted. The Scientific Committee has just closed the peer review and is now finalizing to build the program. Mornings will start with highly reputed keynotes who will make lectures on topics covering industrial R&D challenges in Airbus and NASA, but also SHM and other applications to expect for the future such as Artificial Intelligence. Participants will thus have the choice to follow 22 technical sessions covering topics from traditional NDT methods to SHM, simulation, design and production integration, data evaluation, components and material integration.
In excess there will be a students challenge where 8 teams will present on how they assessed a fairly complex CFRP component and how they might monitor implicit damages in the sense of structural health monitoring.
Integrating to the symposium an exhibition completes the program with 24 NDT materials and equipment vendors. Industrial sites visits are also planned and on the 15th afternoon, Safran Aircrafts Engine, Ariane Group, Air France Research and Maintenance and Synchrotron-Soleil will welcome participants for visiting their insight NDT labs and centers.
This exciting program includes 2 social evenings, with an exclusive visit followed by a cocktail dinner at the CEA List in Saclay on Nov 13 and a Gala Dinner in an Abbey of more than eight centuries of history, on Nov 14.
