Multi-Technique Portable Automated Scanner: The ARMANDATecScan Systems25, Boucherville, Quebec, Canada
TecScans new ARMANDA system (Automated Robotic Mechanical Arm for Non-Destructive Assessment) is a portable automated X-Y scanner that is equipped with a spring loaded Z-axis designed to provide rapid and accurate transducer positioning. With such a scanner, inspections can be performed with either the X or Y axis, and can be mounted on straight or curved surfaces in a vertical or upside-down position. A suction cups support system helps secure the scanner to the inspected part. The ARMANDA was mainly developed for civil and military aerospace applications, but can also be used in a laboratory environment. This multi-technique automated scanner can be used for ultrasonic, eddy current and pulsed eddy current inspections.
