|Bellingham, WA (Sonotech, Inc.) April 30, 2008 Sonotech, Inc., a manufacturer of ultrasonic couplants for non-destructive testing, adds Sono 1200+ high temperature ultrasonic couplant to its family of Extended & Extreme Temperature couplants.|
Sono 1200+ is a medium viscosity paste that provides coupling for thickness gaging and flaw inspection at extreme temperatures. Sono 1200+ covers from 700° F to over 1200°F (371° to 593°C) for thickness gaging and 700°F to 1100°F (371° to 593°C) for flaw inspection.
The formulation of Sono 1200+ grew out of the need for a higher temperature couplant than that provided by Sono 1100, and was based on the successful development and the proven efficacy of Sono 900, 950 and 1100, stated Judy Foley, Sonotechs Quality Manufacturing Liaison. Some new formulations don't make it out of the lab. It is always satisfying when a new product reaches the operator as the latest Sonotech couplant. The availability of Sono 1200+ has been met with enthusiasm.
Marian Larson, Sonotechs Sales and Marketing Group Leader, is excited about the potential. Customers have a need for a product that enables them to inspect production welds at higher temperatures facilitating faster product through put as well as for inspecting high temperature piping in refineries without cooling the piping or stopping production.
The obvious benefit being its extreme operating temperature, Sono 1200+ also contains no perfluorocarbons or fluorinated material, is non-toxic, non-irritating and biodegradable.
Sono 1200+ is a high temperature ultrasonic couplant available in 2 oz, 4 oz, 1 quart, and 1 gallon containers. Additional technical information including datasheet, MSDS, and current price information is available online at www.sonotech-inc.com.
