Departure of Automated Ultrasonic Testing to JSC ?Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works?Nordinkraft Company11, Cherepovets, Russia
Equipment Sever-6-08 allows to carry out non-contact ultrasonic testing of discontinuity of strip 2-4mm in width with a speed 2m/s in production line of Plate Rolling Shop-8 JSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works.
For the first time the equipment allows to carry out simultaneous scanning of a strip on presence of surface and internal defects and defects of edge zones, and also to carry out measurement of thickness of sheet products in technological line of the mill.
Hundred-per-cent scanning of a plate is carried out by means of non-contact electromagnetic acoustic transducers (EMAT) according to requirements GOST B 26853-86 and international standard API 5L.
During acceptance of the equipment, specialists of JSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works - Jashin V.V., deputy chief of Plate Rolling Shop-8, and Shefer O.J., the chief of laboratory of defectoscopics and radiating safety, - have noted, that: Integration of the equipment of ultrasonic testing raises competitiveness of production of sheet-rolling shop No. 8, adjusting it to GOST requirements. Besides the given equipment allows to debug and adjust technology of sheet products production that will have tangible influence on the quality of produced plate.
