Sonatest launch the new Sitescan D Series flaw detectorsSonatest Ltd44, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom
The new Sitescan D Series of flaw detectors from Sonatest Ltd has evolved through heavy consultation with operators in the field, R&D investment and application experience. As a result Sonatest Ltd now bring to market the revolutionary lightweight and performance focussed Sitescan D Series Ultrasonic Flaw Detectors, cutting edge product development rising to the challenge of the most difficult applications.
Whilst delivering high performance and advanced software features our development team has ensured that the user interface is easy and quick to use. The Sitescan D's powerful software and technology is now housed in a lightweight and ergonomic case, which has been designed for comfort and day long use. Display size has not been sacrificed and the battery life runs at a maximum of 18 hours.
The Sitescan D also introduces the new Menu Navigation scroll wheel, giving fast and easy access to functions and enables single-handed menu changes. The keypad is further enhanced for the user with new Direct Access Keys allowing immediate access to essential parameters in the field such as Gate Control or Adjustment; and User Buttons which can be assigned to the operator's preferred menu items or actions.
In addition to the these key performance parameters the Sitescan D Series can be heralded as the most flexible flaw detector in the market. Robustly constructed and sealed to IP67, further new design features, introduced to make site work easier, render the Sitescan D Series highly adaptable in the field. An integrated adjustable pipe stand enables easy positioning whilst the standard built-in camera mount opens up a wide variety of valuable accessories such as magnetic hooks, tripod mounts and body harnesses. The Sitescan D can easily be attached to pipe work, metal plates or hung from other fixtures leaving the operator with both hands free for scanning. Various compatible accessory packs and harnesses are available.
The Sitescan D-10 uses a broad-band amplifier compatible with a wide range of transducers whilst the D-20 model uses several narrow bands for improved performance. The "analogue feel" from the high quality broadband amplifier shows all the detail required to identify defect types such as holes or cracks, and sufficient resolution for identifying small signals. Typical applications are weld inspection, corrosion testing, small castings, forgings and delamination checking.
The new SiteScan D series is being launched now, marking 2008 which is Sonatest's Golden Anniversary commemorating five decades of pride, commitment and innovative design within the growing industry of Non-Destructive Testing.
