Jos de Visser, Technology Specialist Guided Wave at SGS, will share his expertize and experience with the webinar audience on Guided Wave Inspection, also known as Long Range Ultrasonic Testing.
He will not only give an overview of this new inspection technique but will also give practical tips on how this fits into piping integrity programs. Attendees will learn more about the applications and technical limitations of Guided Wave, about the most efficient inspection approach and about the need for follow-up inspections. Jos de Visser will present two interesting practical case studies during the seminar session where Guided Wave inspection has been applied. The focal points of these case studies are Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) and Road Crossings.
Guided Wave Inspection, also known as Long Range Ultrasonic Testing, is a relatively new inspection technology using low frequency guided ultrasound waves traveling along a pipe. Guided Wave technology has several advantages as it screens 100% of the volume of the piping inspected for metal loss features such as corrosion and erosion. Of course these advantages disappear when the technology is not correctly used and therefore the aim of this seminar is to enable you to make better choices and have the right expectations. The piping can be in operation, insulated or even be buried. Guided Wave technology will supply more data than you ever had on piping inspections.
