AERO & DEFENSE TEST 09/ITEA Annual Symposium Brings Best Practice - and Profit Focus - to Baltimore
Hampton, England: Global aerospace and defense R & D and operational test & evaluation professionals are being offered an unmissable series of insights into cost-saving, new business opportunities and latest technologies in test applications across air, space, land and sea, as well as an invaluable program of educational presentations for test and evaluation, aerospace, alternative fuels, fuel cells and aircraft recycling, at this year's Aero & Defense Test 09/ITEA Annual Symposium.
Being held at the Baltimore Convention Center, Maryland, on 29 September - 1 October, the Aero & Defense Test 09/ITEA Annual Symposium is reinforcing its standing as the world's leading event for the aerospace and defense R & D, T & E and OT & E industry by having a showfloor packed with 150 or so exhibitors offering market-leading testing, inspection, evaluation software and products, complemented by a series of hard-hitting technical, business and educational programs featuring some of the biggest names in the business, comprising:
AERO & DEFENSE TEST/ITEA ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM
It all adds up, says Event Director Ian Stone, "to an extravaganza of R & D, manufacture, test and life cycle management excellence that will appeal to decision-makers throughout the aerospace, defense and aircraft industry development, manufacturing and aftermarket chains - from R&D and design and OT&E professionals, through instrumentation, inspection, structural and materials, electronics, avionics, aerodynamics to manufacturing and maintenance engineers as well as life cycle professionals".
He continues: "The show's co-location with the International Test & Evaluation Association Symposium - the renowned annual event for the R&D, T&E and OT&E fraternity that concentrates on 'Sharing emerging best practices to improve test and evaluation to meet future challenges' - and the aerospace-focused conference organized by SME, the world's leading resource for manufacturing information and knowledge, this year's Aero & Defense Test event further reinforces its value-for-money appeal with a series of groundbreaking and focused symposia for alternative fuels and fuel cells, and recycling."
As well as considering what new fuels and fuel cell technologies are being researched and developed and that are realistic, sustainable, renewable and recyclable, importantly the program will look at the response by carriers and OEMs, as well as relative inter-government/regulatory developments and, for example, it will also seek to identify any likely barriers.
Commenting on the aircraft recycling symposium, Ian Stone continues: "It has often been said that every $1 million of aircraft scrap can create up to $10 million of value in recycling, so our inaugural recycling symposium will surely hit some hot buttons, particularly among those who specialise in product life cycle management."
Looking at civil and military airframes, engines and power plants, landing gear, avionics and cabin interiors, the program will also cover end-of-life management, waste reduction, re-use of recycled materials including carbon fibre, and future recycling targets, for example.
