Applus RTD acquires Technico in Canada on 24 July 2009Applus RTD 77, Rotterdam, Netherlands
We are pleased to announce that Applus RTD has acquired Technico in Canada, a company specialised in non-destructive testing and inspection (NDT&I) for the oil and gas, chemical, and other related industries. We have completed the acquisition on 24 July 2009.
Technico is a Canadian firm specialized in and non-destructive testing and inspections and leader in the sector on the Canadian Atlantic seaboard. With this acquisition, Applus RTD strengths its position as world leader in the field of non-destructive testing and increases its presence in Canada, where it operates since 1990 from our branch in Edmonton, province of Alberta, and has a workforce of over 100 employees.
Technico began its operations in 1976 and today has 133 employees in Canada and the United States. The company is headquartered in the province of New Brunswick and, from there, offers inspection, non-destructive testing and specialized engineering services to the industrial sector on the east coast of Canada and the United States. The company had a turnover of more than 10M last year.
