AUBURN, WA--(Marketwire - February 3, 2010) - Criterion NDT, Inc. announces the launch of their company which provides eddy current non destructive testing instruments, probes and services for testing critical components in automotive, medical and bar, tube, wire markets. Criterion NDT, a former business unit of Uson, L.P., is the exclusive distributor of Zetec's InSite and MIZ® 23 Eddy Current Component Testing instruments, and also manufactures standard and custom probes used for crack test and heat treat test anomalies in metal components and raw materials. With a seasoned staff of eddy current application engineers, Criterion NDT is able to evaluate the unique needs of each customer prior to delivering a customized solution.

Finding material defects or flaws during the manufacturing process has the potential to save manufacturers millions of dollars in scrap, warranty, and liability costs, and helps them reach stringent quality standards. For example, a major manufacturer of hypodermic needles uses an eddy current testing solution implemented by the Criterion NDT engineers to ensure that the needles are free from cracks and weld defects.
Single and multi-frequency testing systems designed by Criterion NDT operate with in-line material handling systems and real time sorting systems. Unlike dye penetrant and magnetic particle inspection that use chemicals, eddy current testing is a green technology. Additionally, eddy current testing can reduce the added labor hours and subjectivity of human evaluation that comes with magnetic particle and dye penetrant tests.
Criterion NDT manufactures both standard and custom eddy current crack and heat treat detection probes as well as the associated cabling.
