New version of Magman offers double the optionsPhoenix Inspection Systems Ltd67, Warrington, United Kingdom
Phoenix Inspection Systems has launched a new version of its best-selling Magman scanner that allows both circumferential and longitudinal weld inspection.
The Magman MkIII can be used for phased array, TOFD and pulse echo inspections, separately or combined. Compact yet robust, it can carry up to 12 ultrasonic probes and is capable not only of scanning flat plate welds, but also the inspection of pipes down to 1½ outside diameter (circumferential) and 9 outside diameter (longitudinal).
Magman MkIII can be used with any multi-channel flaw detection system and any manufacturers probes and wedges. It can be supplied with a guide chain and laser guide for accurate positioning and offers quick-release adjustment throughout.
Magman MkIII is self-supporting on the work-piece and has independent suspension on all four magnetic wheels for uneven surfaces. A full range of probes and wedges can be supplied that fit into the constant force tool-posts supplied with the system.
Paul Ryan, sales manager with Phoenix, said: The Magman is readily accepted as the industry standard. The new features of the Magman Mark III provide even more benefits for the same price and allow the use of one scanner for a wider range of inspections. Our clients have been very impressed with the options it now offers.
