Non-Invasive Flow Sensor SONOFLOW for the Use at Flexible Tubes

SONOTEC presents for the first time its latest clamp-on flow sensor SONOFLOW CO.54 for the use at flexible tubes at the COMPAMED 2010. The specialist for ultrasonic applications from Halle expands with the intelligent sensor for non-invasive flow detection its sensor series. Potential applications of the compact sensor for a quick and reliable flow detection lie in the field of medical, laboratory and pharmaceutical technology.

Due to its special construction the sensor provides great advantages in areas with strict hygienic standards. The method is adaptable to individual tube sizes and other specifications, such as power supply, different materials and signal output. Since the tube is to be pressed into the clamp, the sensors have no contact with the liquid and they do not need any coupling medium. The measurement is independent of the liquid colour. Further advantages of the clamp-on method are the quick operating principle without any time lag and the fact that there is no wear at the sensor.

The SONOFLOW is constructed as a component to be integrated into machines and apparatus. The mechanical installation and electrical integration into the control system can be carried out easily. The integration of the sensor is carried out via the 4 ... 20 mA current output. A serial interface allows an easy parameterization and calibration.
