Skills boost for Malaysian welding inspectorsTWI Ltd (The Welding Institute)186, Great Abington, Cambridge, United Kingdom
Fifty welding inspectors in Malaysia are receiving CSWIP training thanks to a partnership between TWI and a skills development organisation.
TWI Technology (South East Asia) Sdn. Bhd. is collaborating with Malaysian company Human Architecture Technologies (HAT) to train and certify 50 welding inspectors in three batches. The inspectors are studying the CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector course, a Level 2 programme leading to an internationally recognised qualification.
HAT is a training company based in Kuala Lumpur that works in partnership with other organisations to provide education and career development to businesses and individuals.
CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector - Level 2 is a globally recognised qualification and one of the most popular training courses delivered by TWI. It has been used and recognised by industry for over 40 years and, by certifying candidates' level of competence, gives organisations the confidence they need in their staff's ability and knowledge.
The 50 students are being taught in three groups, and the training is expected to be completed by the end of September 2014.
The partnership between TWI and HAT is the latest development in TWI’s training activities in Malaysia, where there is significant demand for CSWIP-certified welding inspectors.
