ALLPRO Imaging Presents the ScanX Discover Portable Computed Radiography for the Non-Destructive Testing Market

AllPRO Imaging, Melville, NY, USA

MELVILLE, NEW YORK: ALLPRO Imaging, a leader in portable radiography systems, presents the ScanX Discover for Non-Destructive Testing. The ScanX Discover offers NDT specialists a simple and convenient way to upgrade to digital imaging. Made in the U.S.A., the ScanX Discover is the most rugged, lightweight (46 lbs.), and easily-deployable computed radiography system on the market. This digital imaging system is built to perform in extreme climates and harsh work environments. Specialists can take a radiograph in the field and make determinations on the spot while eliminating the need to chemically process film. Technicians will see more and make timely, accurate assessments via this compact system that can be taken anywhere. The Scan X Discover is available in both high contrast and high resolution models.

The ScanX Discover and ScanX Discover HR are available in a battery models ideal for use in remote situations with no available power source. The rechargeable internal battery is capable of four hours run-time and has the ability to scan approximately thirty 14” x 17” imaging plates or approximately 510 linear inches. The battery design utilizes an internal charging module (PCB) which will restore charging power to the battery pack when an AC (90-264V) connection is applied to the main power inlet. The battery is fully recharged in less than two hours.

With the ScanX Discover there is no longer any need to deal with recurring costs of traditional film, chemistry, darkrooms or processor maintenance. In place of film, the ScanX Discover utilizes durable phosphor storage plates (PSPs) which are coated with X-ray sensitive photostimulable phosphor material. Upon exposure, the plate stores a latent image which is then scanned by the system. The ScanX Discover operates in daylight and will process imaging plates in all standard sizes up to 14 inches in width by any practical length. Image settings are customizable for optimum dynamic range. Its patented, built-in eraser has both a manual and auto erase function. Accessories such as an indexing feed guide for scanning of multiple long imaging plates make it the perfect choice for many NDT applications.

ScanX Discover works with various sources including Selenium, Iridium and Cobalt isotopes. Its portable, sturdy design features include cushioned, shock-resistant panels and a high-strength, extruded aluminum exterior to stand up to the toughest work environment. Isolating/damping feed reduces image quality issues due to external vibration.

ScanX Discover may be used with the digital imaging software you choose. Comprehensive imaging software allows the user to enhance details on a computer; images can be enlarged, magnified, inverted and sharpened unlike traditional film. Images can be stored for easy retrieval or shared with other professionals.
