Sonotron NDT announces the new release of the RADIUS Scan PA Modality inspection SW application

Initially created for the quick and simple compression wave inspection of various cornered (bended) parts made of composites, metals. etc from the inner radius areas the ISONIC RADIUS-Scan software application for the ISONIC series PA instruments (ISONIC 3510, ISONIC 2010, ISONIC 2009 UPA-Scope) is based on the use of regular Linear Array Probes equipped with the wedges (delay lines) shaped according to the inner surface. Upon the geometry of the inner surface is entered the beam steering is performed inside of the wedge (delay line) in a manner providing entering of ultrasonic wave at normal to the surface within entire covered area. Covering the material based on the EQUPAS (Equalized Phased Array inspection Sensitivity) approach the instrument provides individually adjusted gain for every focal law along with the DAC signal evaluation and image normalization; the true-to-geometry image is formed on the instrument’s screen in real time whilst inspecting the desired cross-sections of the material in discrete shots or scanning the area continuously with C-Scan recording. The inspection is featured with 100% raw data recording and 3D imaging:

In the new release the ISONIC RADIUS Scan software is featured with the ability of the inspection of hollow rotor shafts, thick wall tubes, and the like from the bored / ID surface. Use of VAUT (Video Aided Ultrasonic Testing) technology allows permanent visual monitoring of the bored / ID surface whilst scanning and recording of the video information along with the ultrasonic inspection data synchronously into the same inspection results file; the operation is illustrated by the short videos below
