The recently announced new inspection application MULTIGROUP-T is already available in the just published latest software release for the portable PA instruments and platforms of ISONIC Series. The application may be used in all instruments carrying the Dual Core Intel Atom N2600 CPU 1.6 GHz internal computer card (ISONIC 3510 – all units, ISONIC 2010 units manufactured after April 30, 2017, ISONIC 2009 UPA Scope units manufactured after May 31, 2017, and ISONIC PA AUT units manufactured after March 1, 2018). The owners of such units wil find the new application icon at the instrument desktop immediately upon completing the simple software update routine.

For the first time ever performing of the regular or true-to-geometry Sectorial Scan (S-Scan) coverage with / without involvement of cross-sectional sensitivity equalizing (EquPAS) along with the FMC/TFM coverage for the simple and complex geometry welds and other structural elements became possible but not only: another important novelty provides the operator with the ability of simple toggling between the S-Scan and live FMC/TFM coverage and imaging at any moment whilst scanning.

Two videos below illustrate the instrument control and it’s screen when inspecting the butt weld with asymmetrical bevel.

Another two videos illustrate the instrument control and it’s screen when inspecting the fillet weld

Availability of using both complimentary coverage strategies such S-Scan (either True-To-Geometry or not, with our without EquPAS) and live FMC/TFM in the same instrument at the same time further improves the versatility of use, the data interpretation, and the reliability of ultrasonic inspections.
