GE Hosts ACCESS Oil & Gas: Integrity Forum on March 30, 2010GE Inspection Technologies GmbH310, Hürth, Germany
Billerica, MA February 18, 2010 GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies is hosting the ACCESS Oil & Gas: Integrity Forum, a virtual event that goes live on March 30, 2010 and will remain as an accessible environment until June 30 2010. The Forum provides an opportunity for oil & gas professionals to chat live with peers, to listen to industry leaders and learn about industry trends and new product offerings without leaving their computers, eliminating both travel time and travel costs. As a global business leader, GE is connecting with its customers and industry professionals on a new level giving ACCESS to a much wider audience.
The Forum will focus on integrity within the oil & gas sector and specifically on protecting asset integrity, optimizing process efficiency and achieving compliance with environmental, government and health and safety regulations. This focus will be reflected in the subject matter discussed by independent expert speakers and speaker panels and the range of equipment and systems on display in the virtual booths. Once inside the virtual environment, attendees can access the discussion forums and network with other oil and gas professionals. There will be live Q&A sessions following each presentation. In addition, industry experts from GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies will be on hand throughout the virtual environment to answer any questions about different kinds of oil and gas technologies, products or applications.
Currently, keynote speakers will include Mike Nugent , Principal Materials Engineer, Norton Engineering Consultants Inc, who will talk about, Innovative NDE Applications For Corrosion Evaluation for Oil and Refining Assets. This will be supported by short presentations on GE solutions for corrosion detection and monitoring, including the Rightrax HT system for high temperature corrosion applications. A panel of speakers from the Environmental Resource Management and Weil, Gotshal & Manges law firm will discuss the impact of new and anticipated environmental legislation in 2010.
The range of products and systems being showcased at the forum includes inspection and non-destructive testing solutions, as well as measurement and calibration solutions for flow, pressure, and gas and moisture. Of particular interest from the companys wide ultrasonic inspection portfolio will be equipment such as the USM Go, the ultra-light portable flaw detector, the Weldstar mechanized girth weld inspection system, Rightrax HT and Rightrax LT and the Phasor CV/DM, which uses phased array techniques to detect corrosion spots. There will also be an opportunity to see the latest digital radiography solutions, such as the CRx Flex scanner and the DXR 250V portable X-Ray detector, as well as the Apollo multi-frequency, multi-channel eddy current instrument, designed for fast and comprehensive in-service tube inspection, and the portable XL Go high resolution video borescope.
Measurement and calibration solutions offered by GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies find application from sub-sea wellheads to downstream distribution and play major roles in optimizing process efficiency. Products on show at the Forum will include high accuracy ultrasonic and Coriolis flowmeters for liquid custody transfer, gas flare flowmeters, the Aurora laser-based solution for moisture measurement in natural gas processing, transmission and distribution, the latest pressure controller/indicator in the modular PACE family and the HART®-compatible communicator/calibrator, which is now IS-approved.
